Classes at the University of Central Florida and Valencia College are back in session and that means our residents have been making their way back to Orlando, FL for another great semester here at The Retreat East. While we hope everyone had an amazing holiday break, we were excited to help kick off UCF/Valencia College Spring 2022 the right way with a variety of residence life events!
On Monday, January 10th, we started off our Welcome Back Week with a Grab N’ Go School Supplies and Celsius event right at the clubhouse event bar, where we provide notebooks, pens, pencils, sticky notes, paper, and more with cold Celsius drinks to help our residents fuel up for their first week back at UCF. Our residents were able to grab an energy drink and school supplies on their way to their first classes of the new semester. As they grabbed their treat, they were told about all the upcoming events we would be having throughout the week.
For day two of Welcome Back Week, we held a Taco Tuesday event catered by our local Fuzzy’s Taco Shop UCF! At the event, our residents had the option of hard or soft beef, pork, and/or chicken tacos. Fuzzy’s loaded us up with all the fixings for their tacos, including a delicious rice and beans selection! Residents loved coming to the clubhouse for lunch on The Retreat East and it created a fun environment for our residents to get to know each other better!
On our third day of Welcome Back Week, we invited our residents to participate in Win It Wednesday. Throughout the day, residents were looking forward to a social media engagement event for a chance to win a Pizza on The Retreat East delivered right to their door by a member of our staff! Also, at the front desk of the Clubhouse, residents passing through were invited to spin the wheel for an item of awesome Retreat East promo like sweatshirts, t-shirts, water bottles, and more!
For day four, we held a Breakfast Bar in the clubhouse at our event bar, where we provided a variety of delicious bagels, cereal bars, and chocolate milk. Residents enjoyed making their cream cheese bagel as they were coming to and from the clubhouse to study or work out in our two-story fitness center!
On our very last event of Welcome Back Week, we held a Back-to-School Grocery Bingo event at our resort-style pool deck. Residents were given a free chance to win a variety of grocery baskets like Pasta Night, Coffee Lovers, Taco Night, Movies to Go, and Baking Lovers to start their first week back with a bang. TD Bank also came by and residents were able to play for a TD Bank promo basket as they learned financial advice throughout the game!
It was an awesome week getting our residents geared up for a successful semester at the University of Central Florida and Valencia College! We love having the opportunity to provide a best-in-class, UCF off-campus housing experience to our residents. Hosting a variety of fun and engaging events is just one of the many ways we strive to accomplish that. From the whole team here at The Retreat East, we wish everyone an amazing Spring semester!
